A Day in the Life
24 hours with the MiniMed Paradigm™ Veo™ System
The MiniMed Paradigm™ Veo™ System has been designed to offer round-the-clock monitoring, advice, and support. Wherever you are – and whatever you are doing – it will be there to help manage your diabetes.
Here’s an example of how the Paradigm Veo System may help you 24 hours a day:
Time | Problem | Solution |
4:30 am | Your glucose levels are falling to a low level when you are fast asleep. | The Low Glucose Suspend (LGS) mechanism halts insulin delivery for two hours as soon as your glucose levels fall below a pre-set limit. This helps to minimise the risk of severe hypoglycaemia. |
9:15 am | Your glucose levels are rising rapidly after breakfast. | The Rate of Change Alert warns you to take immediate action to correct the situation. |
1:25 pm | Your glucose levels begin to fall during a game of tennis with friends. | The Predictive Alert warns you 15 minutes before your low glucose limit has been reached, and you take preventative action. |
6:45 pm | You have forgotten to take a bolus before an evening meal. | The Missed Meal Bolus Reminder alerts you to this potential oversight to reduce the risk of hyperglycaemia. |
6:47 pm | You are now struggling to work out an accurate pre-meal bolus | The Medtronic Bolus Wizard™ calculator helps you out by suggesting an appropriate bolus amount based on all available information. |
9:50 pm | You may be stacking too much insulin and could suffer a hypo. | The Active Insulin Onboard display shows how much insulin is still active and allows you to make appropriate adjustments. |
